4 fresh nail polish shades for sandal season

Staff Picks

Summer is finally here, and we've got the perfect polishes to keep your nails looking fresh this sandal season..
Ashe London Nail Polish - 4 Summer Shades
Founded in 2021 by nail technician, lawyer and diversity consultant Ashleigh Alli, Ashe London is a nail colour brand that cares. The polish is 74% plant based, vegan and cruelty free and the innovative formula means that it lasts.
As our sandals come back out of the cupboard, we're freshening up our nails with these four shades, named after women who changed the world!
Ashleigh Alli, founder of Ashe London
1. Mary and Mildred, named after the Davidson sisters who invented the first sanitary belt in 1957, helping women prevent the leakage of menstrual blood on their clothing. Mary and Mildred is a softer pink shade, reminiscent of candy floss and ice cream, and makes a perfect everyday Summer polish.

2. Tessa, named after Teresa Sanderson, the first Black British woman to win an olympic gold medal in 1984, is a vibrant chartreuse colour. Tessa is our favourite holiday shade.

3. Mae, named after Mae Jemison, the first Black woman to travel into space, is a bright red, reminiscent of summer berries. We think Mae is the perfect shade for al fresco dining and summer nights watching the sunset.

4. Phillis, named after Phillis Wheatley, who made history in 1773 when she became the first African American woman to become a published author. This shade is inspired by vintage lithographs and 19th century Japanese paintings. This blue nail polish is our beach days colour, for sure.

The brand also donates 10% of it's profits to two charities. Cianna's Smile, a charity for those living with Sickle Cell Disease, and Bloody Good Period, who help tackle period poverty. So when you look at your pretty nails, you'll know you've also done some good.
